Description: Records of Paleontological Society contains agenda, brochures, correspondence, financial reports, membership lists and applications, minutes proceedings, news releases, news letters, obituaries, pamphlets, statements, and questionnaires, by Society secretaries, includes Ralph O. Langenheim Jr. (1964-70), Warren O. Addicott (1971-75), and John Pojeta (1982-88), relating to the organization of the Society (1908); constitution and bylaws (1910, 1921, 1935-87); Council, midyear, and annual meetings (1942-88); officers (1910-83); membership (1939-88); the Charles Schuchert Award (1962-2004), Medal Award (1968-2006), Strimple Award (1988-2004), treasurer's office (1955-88); organization of American Geological Institute (1943-44); committees (1953-92); awards and medals (1962-92); symposiums (1967-89); and affiliations with professional organizations including the Society for Economic Paleontologists and Mineralogists (SEPM) (1967-82). The series also includes records of the Joint Publishing Endeavor Agreement in which SEPM and the Paleontological Society (PS) agreed to fund publishing efforts. Correspondence includes Presidents James Vodentine (1973-74), Ellis Yochelson (1975-76), David M. Raup (1976-77), Francis F. Stehil (1977-78), and Richard Grant (1978-79).
