Departmental Issuances, 1907-

Established as the Department of Philosophy and Logic in 1870,¹ the name was changed to the Department of Philosophy in 1892.² As part of the College of Literature and Arts, it was consolidated into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1913.³ In 1974, the department listed a History and Philosophy of Science Program.
