Audio Archives of radio journalist Robert P. Crawford (1936- ), B.S. (1959), contain audiocassette and CD-R transfers of recordings and typescript interview summaries (424 page audiotape logs) of press conferences, speeches, and proceedings concerning Chicago mayors Richard J. Daley, Michael Bilandic, Jane Byrne, Harold Washington, Eugene Sawyer, and Richard M. Daley; cardinals Joseph Bernadin and Francis George; Chicago aldermen William Beavers, Lawrence Bloom, Ed Burke, Danny Davis, Timothy Evans, Terry Gabinski, Luis Gutierrez, Bernard Hansen, William Henry, William Lipinski, Richard Mell, Burton Natarus, Martin Oberman, David Orr, Roman Pucinski, Fred Roti, Gus Savage, Robert Shaw, Bernard Stone, and Dorothy Tillman; Cook County Board presidents George Dunne, Richard Phalen, and John Stroger; Illinois governors James Thompson, Jim Edgar, George Ryan, and Rod Blagojevich; political activists Willie Barrow, Jesse Jackson, and Nelson Mandela; U.S. representatives Henry Hyde, Dan Rostenkowski, and Bobby Rush; U.S. senators Adlai Stevenson III, Paul Simon, and Carol Moseley Braun; U.S. presidents James Earl Carter, Ronald Reagan, and William Clinton. Subjects include capital punishment, Chicago City Council, Chicago politics, Illinois General Assembly, Illinois politics, U.S. presidents, and U. S. Senate.
