Academic Library Survey, 1974-76

Description: Academic Library Survey carried out by Robert E. Brown, Assistant Director of the Graduate School of Library Science. The survey covered 80 academic and 5 public libraries in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The files contain draft questionnaires, light meter readings, notes, and computer coding instructions; college and university catalogs, library handbooks, subject bibliographies, bibliographic instruction materials, tables of organizations, salary scales, employee handbooks, employee questionnaires, organizational statements of policy, student newspapers, and internal memoranda.  Some files contain correspondence between Brown and the directors of the libraries he visited.
