McCristal (1907-  ), Dean of the College of Physical Education, 1961-73, including letters, reports, memoranda and minutes sent to and received from physical education Deans and Directors; the President's Council on Physical Fitness; American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation; Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Body of Knowledge Project in physical education; Michigan State University Physical Education for Men Department and College of Physical Education.  The letters and reports deal with the Physical Education budget crisis, P.E. requirements, planning utilization of Allerton Park, University P.E. program evaluations, Intramural building, the merger of P.E. for Men and P.E. for Women Departments, and Foundations of Physical Activity a textbook edited by McCristal.  The series also includes articles and speeches concerning physical fitness, P.E. as an academic discipline, U of I State of the College reports, Body of Knowledge project curriculum evaluations, P.E. programs, and Jr. High School athletics.
