Frances Mae Gourley Shiplett Papers, 1949-1952

Papers of Francis Mae (Gourley) Shiplett (1931-2020), (B.A., Fine and Applied Arts, Music Education, 1952).  Includes photographs of the University of Illinois Concert Band and football games at Memorial Stadium (views of the Marching Illini and the Block I Card Stunts); programs from art exhibits, career events, commencement, Dad’s Day, festivals, football games, performances, and religious events; tickets from a 1949 football game at Purdue University; and a pennant and 1950 Homecoming pin.

Also included are issues of the Shaft (Vol. 5, No. 1, 1950), the University of Illinois feature magazine, and the Illinois Caper (Vol. 1, No. 1, 1950), which was a similar publication, and it seems that only one issue was ever produced.
