Description: Papers of Irving Dilliard '27, trustee (1961-67). contain volume of Daily Illiini articles predominantly on agricultural topics authored by Dilliard (1923-24), copies of a letter from Grenville Clark on the Gobitis brief (9/23/1959), a New Republic article on the Clabaugh Act (9/21/1968), a statement on freedom of speech (4/17/7199), a program for a school desegregation conference at Edwardsville and a 19 page paper on the role of Earl Warren in the Brown vs. Board of Education Case (5/2-4/1979). Also includes extensive correspondence with Clarence A. Berdahl, political science professor (1925-59), concerning University of Illinois and Missouri state, national and international politics (1932-88). Biographical information on Berdahl and W.E. Arnold Forster (188?-1951), a British peace activist and artist; copies of Dilliard's personal correspondence (1941, 1969-95); and a reminiscence of undergraduate days in political science by Malcolm Wallace (1924).
