"Home of Their Own" is a film that was created and debuted during the University of Illinois sesquicentennial celebration (2017). In the earlier years of the University's establishment, on campus housing was very limited. Most students lived in the community. However, due to restrictive covenants, Black students were primarily living in the North end of Champaign. Students were either from the community, or were housed by local residents. The collection consists of photos used in the film. They were donated by community members, and University of Illinois alumni: Angela Rivers, Eunice Rivers, Estelle Merrifield, Ray Hines and Paul Hursey. The photos are mostly family pictures. You can view "Home of Their Own" through media space.
