Edmund A. Wall and Sons Sousa Band Photographs and Papers, 1904-1986

Adiminsrative/Biographical History: Edmund A. Wall, father of both Edmund C. and Charles A. Wall, was a member of the Sousa band for only the 1910 tour and the 1911 World Tour. Both he and his sons played Bb Clarinet for the band, but at different times. Charles A. Wall joined the band during the 1927 tour and played again with the group in 1929 and on a recording from 1930. Edmund C. Wall joined the band in 1925 and played with the group until 1931. In addition, Edmund C. Wall became an active clarinettist in New York joining the New York Ballet Orchestra, the Metropolitan Orchestra, the Goldman Band, the Pryor Band, and several New York theatre companies.
