A. Frazier and Sons Records, 1868-1900

Adiminsrative/Biographical History: According to H. W.  Beckwith's History of Vermilion County (1879)  Abraham Frazier began the family business of a general store in Georgetown carrying a range of products including shoes, cloth, hoes, tobacco, eggs, hairpins, butter, thread, castor oil, gloves, envelopes, and letterhead. Although Abraham had no children, his brother Abner two carried on the general store trade because they were not interested in farming but rather mercantile matters.  The store was first known as A. Frazier and Son then changed name five years later to A. Frazier and Sons in 1876.
