Consists of opera performer publicity photographs, many of which are autographed; autographed opera programs; and opera posters, documenting Larry King's extensive opera collection; also includes King's law licenses from Florida, Illinois, and New York.
Lawrence Stanford King (1946-1994) was an alumnus of University of Illinois (1968) and the University of Illinois College of Law (1973). He practiced corporate law in New York City, and was an avid opera-goer and collector. Upon his death in 1994, his vast collection of musical recordings, scores, opera librettos, photographs, posters, books, and other opera memorabilia was donated by King's parents to the Music and Performing Arts Library.
