Brief Description: Adult Services in the Eighties (ASE) Project File, a project to survey, report and analyze adult services in the 1980s, was to partially replicate a 1952-53 survey by Helen Lyman Smith and be used in planning new directions for adult library services. ASE files include the original proposal, which was funded by an ALA Goal Award (1983) memoranda, minutes of meetings, the pilot questionnaire, ASE Seminar notes, descriptions of participating libraries, project procedures manual, correspondence of principal investigator Kathleen M. Heim, and mailing lists. The file includes several 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 floppy disks.
