Biographical Note

Mary Ghikas served as the ALA Executive Director (2018-2020), Interim Executive Director (1997-1998, 2017-2018), and Senior Associate Executive Director (1995-2016). Throughout her career, she has served in numerous library systems including Chicago Public Library, Los Angeles Public Library, Western New York Library Resources Council, and the U.S. Book Exchange in Washington, DC.
