Account books of the American Library Association contains account records of debits and credits including membership fees received, initiative funds, salaries, conference expenses, operating expenses, Bookbuying Committee spending, and contingency funds, includes Treasurer Books (1885-1895, 1897-1909), and Treasurer's Journal (1921-1927).

Biographical Note

The Finance and Accounting Department's mission includes safeguarding and growing the Association's assets, establishing and maintaining a functioning set of policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance to audit and generally accepted accounting principles and ethical standards.
