Files of Personnel Survey, for a study conducted by the Classification of Library Personnel Committee and financed by the Bureau of Public Personnel Administration of the Institute for Government Research (after 1927 a part of the Brookings Institution) to study library positions and the way they are grouped, named and compensated, contains correspondence, completed survey forms containing employee's name, personal data, library experience, place and hours of work, compensation, education, personal traits, position title and type of work, additional data on the libraries surveyed including library histories, administrative structures, annual reports, circulation figures, personnel rosters, salary scales, comments from employees, Suggestions and Directions for Filling Out the Questionnaires, and correspondence with Fred Telford, Chief of the technical staff for the survey and Arthur Bostwick, Chairman, Classification of Library Personnel Committee. Respondents include Henry Carr, Phineas Windsor, and W. N. C. Carlton.
