Name: Lahusen, Kay Tobin

Historical Note: Kay Tobin Lahusen (1930-2021) was a photographer, writer and gay rights activist. She was partners with Barbara Gittings, one of the founders of ALA's Gay Task Force, for forty-six years. Lahusen is known for being the first openly gay American photojournalist, and photographed activists, marches, and events. She also photographed Gay Task Force events at ALA conferences.
