Name: King, David E.
Historical Note: David E. King (d. 1998) was a Chicago area librarian. He served with the Peace Corp in the Philippines in the 1960s before coming to Chicago in 1964, working for the library at R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Chicago. Then he spent 27 years as a librarian for Standard Educational Corp. He represented Illinois as a delegate to the first White House Conference on Libraries and Information Sciences in 1979. He became the president of the Illinois chapter of the Special Libraries Association and was named a fellow of SLA in 1987. King died in 1998.
