Historical Note: Elizabeth H. Burnside was born on February 10, 1882 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and died on December 29, 1953. She attended Penn College in Oskaloosa (1901-05) and the University of Illinois Library School (1905-07). Burnside worked at the Oskaloosa High School library, Bradley Polytechnic Institue, Morningside College, and the Oskaloosa Public Library. She also served in the ALA WWI Library War Service.
