Law and Political Science Section | The American Library Association Archives

Name: Law and Political Science Section

Historical Note:

The Law and Political Science Section has a background similar to Education and Behavioral Sciences.  It was one of the original subsections of the Subject Specialties Section which was formed in July 1958 (1).  It became an independent section after the resolution, "that the ACRL Board assign sectional status to the seven present SSS subsections, thereby eliminating the present subject specialists section as such" passed the ACRL board (2).

The Law and Political Science Section "represents librarians and specialists in the fields of law and political science" (3).

The following committees compose the Law and Political Science Section:

1) Bibliographies

2) Conference Program Planning

3) Nominating

4) Publications

5) Review/Planning (4)
