Education and Behavioral Sciences Section | The American Library Association Archives

The Education and Behavioral Science Section "represents librarians and specialists in the fields of education and behavioral science" (1). Its roots stretch back to the authorization of the formation of the Subject Specialists Section by the ACRL executive board on July 14, 1958 (2). The Education and Behavioral Science section was one of several sections which were created at that time. At the June 29, 1972 ACRL Board meeting the executive committee of the Subject Specialties Section recommended "That the ACRL Board assign sectional status to the seven present SSS subsections, thereby eliminating the present subject specialists section as such" (3).
