Massachusetts Library Club members standing at the train station, saying goodbye to departing friends at the end of the 1898 ALA Conference at Lakewood-on-Chautauqua, New York.
On the back reads: "But the time for 'Au Revoir at Atlanta' comes all too soon. Frequent trips to the station to speed the parting guest soon form our only occupation.
"Six Massachusetts Library Club members here are leaving: Mr. Lane (our new ALA president), Miss Williams, Miss Quimby, Miss Blanchard, Mr. & Mrs. Jones."
