Historical Note: Harriet C. Long (1887-1941) was the Oregon state librarian. She graduated from New York State Library School in 1910; worked in libraries in California until 1915; later she was engaged in library work with the army on the Mexican Border, and in France and Germany during 1918 and 1919; she was a member of American Library Association, American Association of University Women, and the Salem Women's Club.
