Periam Danton's 'Between MLS and Ph.D.,' a study of accredited library schools with sixth year programs sponsored by the Committee on Accreditation and the Office of Library Education as an ALA Goals Award Project, including correspondence, questionnaires, statistics and charts.

Biographical Note

On June 21, 1956, the Council created the Committee on Acceditation (COA) (1). It is responsible for the execution of the accreditation program of ALA, and it develops and formulates standards of education for librarianship for the approval of Council (2).
