Brief Description:

Oral histories of commercial binderies, done as part of the Library of Congress Occupational Folklife Project with the PARS Oral History Project Working Group, contains audio recordings and timed audio log of the recordings, includes bookbinding careers, bookbinding industry and business, adhesive research, evolution of bookbinding industry, and preservation.

Biographical Note for Preservation and Reformatting Section : The Preservation and Reformatting Section (PARS) of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services focuses on the preservation and reformatting of library materials in all types of institutions and applying new technologies to assure continued access to library collections.(1) The section was formed in 1995 when the Preservation of Library Materials Section merged with the Reproduction of Library Materials Section.
