Biographical Note for Sleeman, William : <p style="background:#FEFEFE;vertical-align:baseline"> <span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif;color:#494949">William “Bill” Sleeman grew up in Ferndale, Michigan. He earned a B.A. in American History from Oakland University, Michigan, an A.M.L.S. in Archives Administration from the University of Michigan and an M.A. from the University of Baltimore’s program in Legal, Ethical and Historical Studies. He has worked at the Center for Sex Equity in Schools at the University of Michigan; the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland; the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland, and the U.S. Department of the Interior Library. He was Associate Librarian for Technical Services at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. In 2011, he became the Assistant Librarian for Technical Services and Special Collections at the Supreme Court of the United States Library. Sleeman created the Historical Publications of the United States Commission on Civil Rights digital project. He has also helped to develop the African Americans in the Law archives and digital initiative. Sleeman has been an active member of the American Library Association (ALA). In 2007 he was elected chair of the ALA’s Government Documents Round Table. His other ALA committee work has included the ALA Task Force on the Proposed Google Book Search (GBS) Settlement, 2009-2011; the ALA-Society of American Archivists-American Association of Museums Joint Committee (CALM Committee), 2009 – 2011; and the American Library Association, COL Subcommittee on E-Government, 2008-2010.<o:p></o:p></span>
