Brief Description: Minutes of the board of the Committee on Accreditation (formerly the Board of Education for Librarianship), contains dockets, and meeting minutes and notes, from Midwinter, Spring, Annual, and Fall meetings, includes the first meeting (May 24, 1923), the feasibility of accreditation programs, its planning and execution of accreditation programs, votes on each library school considered, and the notes of Elinor Yungmeyer (1986-87), June Lester (1987-91), and Prudence Dalrymple (1991).

Biographical Note for Accreditation Committee : On June 21, 1956, the Council created the Committee on Acceditation (COA) (1). It is responsible for the execution of the accreditation program of ALA, and it develops and formulates standards of education for librarianship for the approval of Council (2).
