Biographical Note for Wert, Lucille (1919-) : Lucille M. Wert was born in 1919 in Sioux City, Iowa. She received a B.S. in Library Science from Simmons College in 1945, and went on the University of Illinois to receive her M.S. and PhD in Library Science in 1963 and 1969, respectively. Wert served as the Math and Physics Librarian at the University of Iowa from 1946 to 1948, and in the same position at the University of Chicago from 1948 to 1950. Wert would then return to the University of Illinois, and in 1981 became Assistant Director of the Physical Science and Engineering Libraries. She also served as a professor of Library Science at the University of Illinois. There is a scholarship in her name supporting students pursuing the profession of Chemical Information.
