Barbara McCrimmon Autograph Collection, contains letters written by Cyrus Adler (1902-03, 1906), Melvil Dewey (1918), Sam W. Foss (1902, 1908-09), Edith Guerrier (1935), William C. Lane (1899, 1902, 1916), Archibald MacLeish (1941, 1962, 1971), George Herbert Putnam (1906-28), John L. Sibley (1856-58), Ainsworth R. Spofford (1877, 1888, 1890), Horace G. Wadling (1903, 1906-07, 1917), and Justin Winsor (1869-88), includes autograph letters written by librarians to W. So. Braithwaite and B. J. Brimmer Co. letters originated from, or were sent to, the Haverhill (Mass.) public library and the Library of Congress acknowledging receipt of donations, one from Melvil Dewey in his simplified spelling, one page of a letter from librarian of Congress Archibald MacLeish concerning the Experimental Division of Library Cooperation, the Brimmer and Braithwaite letter primarily concern orders and requests for complimentary copies of poetry books, and one letter from Douglas C. McMurtrie concern the 500th Anniversary of the Invention of Printing (1940).
