Biographical Note for McShean, Gordon : Gordon McShean was born on October 7, 1936 in Glasgow, Scotland. He received an associate degree in English from El Camino College. At the University of Southern California, McShean earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in Library Science. He worked for Stanford University Library and Stanislaus County Free Library in Modesto, CA. McShean was coordinator of the Task Force on Sex-Related Media for ALA’s Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT).
