Brief Description: Publications of LAMA's Circulation Services Section includes Circulation Policies of Academic Libraries in the U.S., 1968 (1970) and Turnkey Automated Circulation Systems: Aids to Libraries in the Marketplace (1980), Standards for Library Services for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (1967) developed by the Commission on Standards and Accreditation of Sources for the Blind and adopted by the Library Administration on July 14, 1966, which contain general provisions and principles for federal involvement, state, community and school libraries, agencies serving the blind, equipment, and physical facilities.

Biographical Note for Systems and Services Section :

In December, 1966, the governing board of the LAMA approved the Circulation and Services Section as a section (1). In 1984, the name of the section became the Services and Systems Section (SASS) (2). The purpose of this section is to study and evaluate the application of new technology in services, and the management thereof, and for the improvement of library services and systems. Within this TEXT, the section was to foster research, develop and promote continuing education opportunities, disseminate information, and provide a forum for the discussion of related management issues pertinent to all types of libraries.
