Description: Library-Community Project subject files of the Adult Services Division. The LCP was supported by the $200,000 grants from the Fund for Adult Education for 1955- 57 and 1957-59. The purpose was to assist libraries in developing long-term adult education programs based on analysis of community needs. The series includes follow-up reports from participants in the 1954 Allerton Park Conference on adult education (1956-57), subject files on consultant services in adult education offered to libraries by ALA through LCP (1955-60), correspondence of LCP director Ruth Warncke (1955-60), material on selection of applicants for LCP grants, reports and informational materials on projects in states granted LCP funds, including Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wisconsin, and background papers and reprint articles on adult education.
