Biographical Note
John B. Stratton was born in Pioneer, Ohio on March 9, 1908. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1930 with a degree in History and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Library Science from Columbia University. Stratton worked at the Ohio State University Library, Oklahoma A&M College, the Neurological Institute in New York City, Columbia University, and the Oklahoma State University Library. He also served as librarian at the College of Agriculture, Haile Salassie I University in Diere Dawa, Ethiopia. Stratton was a member of the Oklahoma Librarians Association and ALA, as well as member (1946-60) and chairman (1952-58) of the RTSD Bookbinding Committee.
