Procession of conference attendees going to the ampitheatre at Chautauqua at the ALA Annual Conference at Lakewood-on-Chautauqua, New York, including Elizabeth Barnes and James Barnwell.
Caption reads: We land at Chautauqua, and form a long procession to the ampitheatre. [No. 35] Our friend at Mr. Barnwell's left, wishes to impress the natives with a proper sense of solemnity of the occasion. Miss Barnes just behind clutches her kodak as if she thought cameras were not allowed inside the ground.
