Systems and Services Section | The American Library Association Archives
In December, 1966, the governing board of the LAMA approved the Circulation and Services Section as a section (1). In 1984, the name of the section became the Services and Systems Section (SASS) (2). The purpose of this section is to study and evaluate the application of new technology in services, and the management thereof, and for the improvement of library services and systems. Within this TEXT, the section was to foster research, develop and promote continuing education opportunities, disseminate information, and provide a forum for the discussion of related management issues pertinent to all types of libraries.
