Caption on the back reads: "The late Herman H. B. Meyer, who was for 30 years a member of the staff of the Library of Congress and in whose honor a memorial fund of $2000 was presented to the American Library Association at the sixty-first annual conference in San Francisco, June 21. The presentation was made at a Friends of the Library luncheon in the St. Francis Hotel by George B. Utley, librarian of the Newberry Library, Chicago. Dr. Meyer was a former president of the American Library Association and a former president of the Bibliographic Society of America."
