Born digital records from the Judith F. Krug papers, contain correspondence, interview transcriptions, articles and drafts, notes, public statements, memorandums, guidelines, posters, and press releases, relating to political and legislative decisions affecting free access to public information, as well as users' and ALA members' confidentiality in US Libraries. Topical areas include Banned Books week and author fundraiser; obstacles to freely access information; First Amendment freedoms in American libraries; ALA policy on confidentiality of personally identifiable information about library users; use of libraries for surveillance; Communications Decency Act ("CDA") and Children's Online Protection Act ("COPA"); USA Patriot Act; Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request; internet filtering; and cybercrime.
Electronic records also include spreadsheets, reports, official forms and other administrative documentation relating to employees' salaries and performance appraisals; financial reports; and statements of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
