Circus Pyramid Performers (2) | University of Illinois Archives

Title:
Circus Pyramid Performers (2)
Date:
May 18, 1929
Description:

Student circus performers all participate in the multitasked pyramid routine at the interscholastic circus. The men, who has been practicing since October, all display their gymnastic and performing prowess to the crowd.

The interscholastic circus was an annual spring event where students, under the training of circus coach Carlos Wagner, trained as clowns and performers to put on a university circus show. Wagner had reportedly accepted as the athletic director at UC San Diego. So, this was his last, and most eccentric circus. Campus Greek life was integral to these performances every year.
