Historical Note: Tom Riley is a trial lawyer from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He represented the Kehm estate in a successful lawsuit against the Procter and Gamble corporation for the death of Patricia Kehm from Toxic Shock Syndrome caused by Rely tampons.   Riley wrote a book on the case called "Price of a Life: One Woman's Death from Toxic Shock," (Adler and Adler, 1986).  Though he won the trial, Riley was tried for contempt of court for violating a protective order and releasing documents containing trade secrets from the Procter and Gamble company.
