Description: Papers of Sidney Rosen (1916-2005), professor of astronomy (1958-94), contains biographical information, newspaper clippings, press releases, publications, correspondence, conference programs and proceedings, and lectures concerning astronomy courses and curriculum, professorial appointments, university committees and activities, the publication of Rosen's science textbooks and books for children, consulting, sabbatical projects, and Rosen's involvement with scientific committees and associations, including the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (1960-68), and the National Science Teachers Association (1956-60), his work for the Ford Foundation as program specialist of higher education projects in Columbia, South America (1963-66). Major correspondents include Bertram Coren, David D. Henry, Nathan A. Neal, Jack W. Peltason, and Robert B. Polhemus.
