Brief Description: Published reports and brochures of the Committee on Housing Research and Development, which was to promote research, teaching and public service on the quantity and quality of housing, especially the housing needs of persons of low and moderate incomes.  The series includes studies of family housing, multifamily housing, recreation, social planning, tenant councils and housing in the Rockford and Peoria.

This program was established in 1970, as a committee of the Graduate College1 in response to a proposal by Robert D. Katz, Professor of Architecture. The purpose of this committee is to establish a program to bring the quantity and quality of housing within the framework of research, teaching and public service, and to emphasize the housing needs of families of low and moderate income.2
