Brief Description: Papers of Felicia L. (Sacks) Turyn (1897-1989), cataloger (1945-47) includes provenance note, correspondence and "Wartime Memoirs of a Polish Refugee"  consisting of a 318 page account of her 1939-41 experience as a refugee from Warsaw to Russian and German occupied Poland, military destruction and regulations, refugee in Russian and German occupied Poland, military destruction and regulations, refugee life, discrimination against Jews, ghettos and wartime travel via Turkey, Iraq and India to the United States.  This series also inlcudes incoming correspondence (1940-75) from Turyn's Polish and German professional colleagues, acquaintances and family members, largely in Polish, regarding fate of friends and family members, post-war relocation, and resettlement.
