Brief Description: Papers of Frederick Charles Dietz (1888- ), professor of history (1920-56), including family correspondence (1908, 1914-16) and historical publications (1923-37) and an autobiographical account, "Aus Meinem Leben or Things That I Remember," including letters relating to a trip to Liverpool, London, Cambridge, Paris, Muhlacker (Swabia), Bieberach and the Rhine (1908); letters form Berlin (Oct 1915 to Jan 1916) and London (Jan - April, 1916) while engaged in research at the university of Berlin and the Public Record Office. Topics include travel, customs, relatives in Germany, World War I and research. The publications relates to English financial history in the Tudor period. The autobiography related to German immigration, life in Philadelphia (1850-1920), graduate work in Europe (1914-16), the history department and family.
