Description: Four-page manuscript letter from F. F. Lumberg and fourteen other Russian refugees (Terijoki, Finland) to L. H. McWane, president of the McWane Pipe Works of the Lynchburg, VA Foundry (November 20, 1921) about the Russian Revolution and its consequences, their work in Finland, the need for funds to get their families (32 persons at $150 each) out of Russia, American industry's World War I record and American relief work, hunger and the urgency of the situation. The series includes a copy of an August 14, 1983, newspaper article on the donor.
