Brief Description: The Papers of Harriet Bell Merrill (1863-1915), graduate student in Zoology at the University of Illinois, 1914-15, include M.L. Hartridge's book The Anandrous Journey (Amherst, Wisconsin, 1997) which describes Merrill's professional work and personal experiences while touring South America on a research trip (1902-03), teaching and conducting research as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin (1907-09), and conducting Ph.D studies at the University of Illinois under Charles Zeleny and Henry B. Ward (1914-15).
