Biallas (1944 - 2018), BS 1967 (Architectural Studies) MS 1969 (Architecture), FAIA, Chief Historical Architect National Park Service (1980-2017) including correspondence, reports, essays, photos, pamphlets, forms, diazo prints, CDs, DVDs, 3.5" and 5.25" floppy discs, publications and files relating to the preservation and maintenance of historic structures including pest management, conservation, restoration, architecture, threats to cultural resources, energy conservation, concessions, fire safety, furnishing, and leasing; employment with the National Park Service (1980-2017) including history and publications, administration, national parks, Register of Historic Places, project reports, user manuals for cultural heritage management programs, conference and workshop papers, records management guidelines, research standards documents, cultural resource management reviews; student work at the University of Illinois (1963-1969); personal cards and photographs; heritage site brochures, correspondence pertaining to preservation of historic sites including Iolani palace (Honolulu, HI), Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (Mill Run, PA), Garfield Home (Mentor, OH), Lincoln Home (Springfield, IL), Truman Home (Independence, MO), Chicago Stock Exchange Building (Chicago, IL). Iolani Palace (Honolulu, Hawaii) restoration materials includes 9x12" historical photographs of palace exterior, interior, grounds, events, and artifacts (1874-1941), photographs of construction phases II-VIII (1971-76), reports (1971-76), specifications on buildings, palace fixtures, fabrics, and hardware (1971-75), and 24x36" diazo design drawings of restoration work (1972-73, 1976). This series also includes 24x36" diazo design drawings for restoration at Fallingwater (1999).
