Esther R. Steinberg (1923-2017) was a Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She was also a Senior Specialist in the Computer-based Education Research Laboratory at UIUC.

Professor Steinberg, formerly a mathematics instructor, specialized in design, evaluation, and research in computer-assisted instruction since 1969.
