Adiminsrative/Biographical History:
Isabelle Fitch Grant (1896 - 1990) was the Rare Book Room librarian at the University of Illinois (1942-1965). She earned her bachelor's degree in library science in 1929 and her master's degree in 1937 from the U of I. She supervised the transfer of the Rare Book Room at the U of I into expanded quarters and was in charge of the 17th century collection at the university. She retired in 1965 with the rank of associate professor.
